The proteins DRA0310 and PA1400, in addition to the domains corresponding to the α and β subunits of acetyl-CoA carboxylase, contain a biotin carboxylase domain and a biotin carboxyl carrier protein domain. The clustering of these proteins in phylogenetic trees almost certainly reflects HGT between the respective bacterial lineages.
