Efficient and reproducible generation of high-expressing, stable human cell lines without need for antibiotic selection

Gudrun Schiedner, Sabine Hertel, Corinna Bialek, Helmut Kewes, Gero Waschütza, Christoph Volpers BMC Biotechnology 2008, 8:13 (12 February 2008)

Stable cell lines can be generated independent of antibiotic selection by immortalizing human amniocytes, collected during amniocentesis, via the introduction of adenoviral E1 functions, offering a promising new method for use in the pharmaceutical industry.
