Polymorphism patterns in Duffy-binding protein among Thai Plasmodium vivax isolates Panita Gosi, Srisin Khusmith, Thareerat Khalambaheti, David E Lanar, Kurt E Schaecher, Mark M Fukuda, Scott R Miller Malaria Journal 2008, 7:112 (26 June 2008) PvDBPII is an important vaccine candidate for vivax malaria. Studies on the polymorphism in the erythrocyte binding domain of this protein are thus significant. The authors describe high rate of variation in this region among Thai isolates of P.vivax population where non-synonymous mutations predominate over the synonymous mutations
