Proposed mechanism for the cytotoxic action of AT-specific drugs. The drugs bind to
AT-rich MARs in chromatin, crosslinking the two strands of the DNA. This leads to
the disruption of processes such as transcription and DNA replication that are initiated
at or in the vicinity of MARs.
