EVM and PASA automated annotation accuracies compared to alternatives. The gene prediction
accuracy of both EVidenceModeler (EVM) and Program to Assemble Spliced Alignments
(PASA) are shown in the context of the other methods evaluated as part of the ENCODE
Genome Annotation Assessment Project (EGASP) competition. Although PASA alone performs
quite well, the benefits from applying PASA as a postprocess to the EVM consensus
predictions are not immediately apparent, except in the enumeration of alternatively
spliced isoforms as shown in Figure 10. PASA and EVM are shown to perform similarly
to the best performing methods in the EGASP competition.
