The dots represent the actual measured values averaged over 25 KEGG pathways, while the lines represent the difference between the actual measured values and random coherence at an equivalent network size. The coherence is measured over networks of increasing size up to one million gene pairs. The grey dashed lines mark the network sizes of 20 K and 200 K, which are the points where the slope (gain in coherence) flattens.
