Calculating genetic risk from multiple loci
The widely accepted unconstrained multiplicative model which combines genome wide association data for overall risk calculation is not realistic, while other models more compatible with the data are indistinguishable using currently available observed parameters.
Genome Medicine 2010, 2:10

Multiple microRNAs muscle in on diabetes
Muscle mRNA expression is invariant with respect to diabetes status, but coordinated changes in numerous microRNAs may control protein abundance and affect skeletal muscle insulin resistance, a critical component of the disease.

  Biology for the post-genomic era.

Method
GOseq
Young MD, Wakefield MJ, Smyth GK, Oshlack A / 04 February 2010

GOseq is a method for Gene Ontology analysis of RNA-seq data that takes into account the length bias inherent in RNA-seq.

Editorial
Ten years of Genome Biology
Garvey C / 29 January 2010

Huge advances in the field of genomics along with the continued rise of open access has made the past ten years an exciting time to be a biologist.

Research
Analyzing low-coverage genomes
Milinkovitch MC, Helaers R, Depiereux E, Tzika AC, Gabaldon T / 09 February 2010

The use of low coverage genomes in comparative evolutionary analyses to determine gene gain and loss events skews genome estimates.

A genome-wide study of X chromosome genetic diversity in human populations shows the impact of social organization and local adaptation.
